Whaley United Methodist Church celebrates 123 years of ministry in 2010. What was once a neighborhood congregation is now a regional church with families from all over Cooke County, including six school systems within its membership. Whaley is blest with diversity while being dedicated to One Lord, One Church, and One Mission. Ethnic diversity, single parents, young couples, children, youth, grandparents and great grandparents all gather together to worship God every Sunday. The wealth of life experience, talents, and dedication of Whaley's members create an atmosphere of excitement, love and creativity. It is a privilege and a joy to be in team ministry as the pastor of this congregation. Diversity in life, unity in Christ is what comes to my mind as I serve our Lord and this great congregation of God's people who are dedicated to making Disciples of Christ for the transformation of the world.
In Christ's Love, Jim
